Five years of friendship and collaborative events have grown into a shared imprint from Transparent Audio and Yamatai. Momentum brings artists from the two labels together, including Spektiv with Dub Ten and Revan with Fearful, making collaboration the point of the record rather than simply placing separate tracks side by side. Released on 25 September, it is a recent pick from just outside this week. Mastering is by Height Sonics, with artwork by Gaijin Graphics and Mirai Vision.
Nearly three years on from the previous instalment, The Chikara Project’s Connections series returns with 14 tracks. Mystic State open with Kiah on “Timed Out”, Third Degree gets a solo turn on “More”, and the two reconnect on “You Are Loved”, which we picked out last week. Stick around for Method Sound’s closer “Shoreline”.
Sofa Sound Bristol brings six tracks together for Resurgence EP - United For Colombia, a benefit compilation released in support of United for Colombia. It is a community-minded snapshot of the label's bass-led orbit, with the cause kept firmly at the centre.
The celebration of Pinch’s seminal Bristol dubstep label continues with the sixth installment of their 20th-anniversary vinyl series. Hitting shops and streaming this week, this release features new and exclusive heat from scene legends like Peverelist, Kahn & Neek, and the next generation of bass-weight innovators. A crucial release for understanding Bristol's enduring electronic legacy.
