Bristol mainstays Alpha return with Holding on to Nothing, the latest glimpse of their forthcoming album Dear Darkness. Led by producer Corin Dingley, Alpha have been woven into the city’s electronic history since their early releases through Massive Attack’s Melankolic label, and this new material carries that lineage forward rather than simply looking backwards.
Atmospheric and cinematic, Holding on to Nothing sits comfortably within Alpha’s world of downtempo electronics and textured songwriting. The track arrives ahead of Dear Darkness, which is due on 2 October through Alphaheaven Recordings.
